What we collect and why
Server logs
Our hosting provider (Kinsta) automatically records standard technical data when you visit: IP address, browser type, pages requested, and timestamps. This is used for security, debugging, and abuse prevention — our legitimate interest in running a stable, secure website. Logs are retained for a limited period and then deleted.
Contact and enquiries
If you contact us — through a form on this site, by email, or by booking a call — we process the details you provide (name, email address, and the content of your message) to respond to you. That processing is based on our legitimate interest in answering enquiries, or on taking steps prior to entering a contract if you're asking about buying Deskhand.
Purchases
When paid licences go on sale through this site, we will process the data needed to fulfil the order (name, email, billing details) and update this policy with the payment provider involved before that happens. Payment card details will be handled by the payment provider, not stored by us.
Cookies
This website does not set marketing or analytics cookies. If you log in to a store account on this site (for licence management, when available), WordPress sets the cookies necessary for that session to work — these are strictly functional.
Third parties
- Kinsta — hosting. Your requests to this site are processed on Kinsta's infrastructure.
- Google Fonts — this site loads fonts from Google's servers, which means your IP address is disclosed to Google when the page loads. See Google's privacy policy for how they handle it.
- Cal.com — if you book a call through a link on this site, the booking is handled by Cal.com under their privacy policy.
We do not sell personal data, and we do not share it with anyone beyond the processors listed above.
How long we keep data
Enquiry correspondence is kept for as long as needed to deal with your enquiry and for a reasonable period afterwards. Server logs are rotated automatically by our host. Purchase records, when applicable, are kept as long as required for tax and accounting law.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or erased, to restrict or object to our processing of it, and to receive it in a portable format. To exercise any of these, contact us via the contact page. If we change this policy, the new version will appear on this page with an updated date at the top. Material changes — a new processor, a new purpose — will be flagged clearly rather than slipped in quietly.
