Your agent answers brilliantly. Now let it finish.
On the free tier, Deskhand answers every “where's my order?” and hands the rest to you. Pro is where the handing-over stops: cancellations, address changes, and returns resolved end to end, under rules you write in plain English.
£99 per site, per year · Your store never breaks if a licence lapses
Same conversation. Different ending.
| Customer says | Deskhand Free | Deskhand Pro |
|---|---|---|
| “Cancel my order.” | Verifies the customer, gathers the details, escalates to your team. You cancel it. | Checks your policy. Cancels it. Adds the order note. Logs the action. Done in one conversation. |
| “I put the wrong address on it.” | Takes the correct address, opens a ticket. The race against dispatch is yours to run. | Updates the address on the spot if the order hasn't shipped and your policy allows it. |
| “This arrived damaged — I want to send it back.” | Explains your returns policy accurately, then hands over for the RMA. | Opens the return within your returns window and tells the customer what happens next. |
| Something outside every policy | Escalates to a human with full context. | Exactly the same. Pro widens what the agent may do — never what it may risk. |
Four things unlock with Pro
The policy engine
Plain-English rules deciding what the agent may do, evaluated deterministically against live order state. Three presets to start from.
Write actions
Cancel orders, change shipping addresses, open returns. Each one individually switchable, and every one off until you say otherwise.
The audit trail
An immutable record of every proposed action, policy decision, and outcome — alongside an order note on every change.
Simulate mode
Dry-run any message before enabling anything. Watch what the agent would do with a cancellation request before it can do it.
The safety model doesn't loosen with a licence key. Write actions still require a verified session, still pass your policy, and still land in the audit log. Pro is more capability, never less control.
Licensing without the hostage-taking
You're putting this on a live store — possibly a client's. So the licence terms are designed to never be the thing that breaks it.
Lapse ≠ breakage
If your licence expires, the plugin degrades gracefully to the free tier. The widget stays up, answers keep flowing, nothing errors. Write actions pause until you renew.
Outage-proof validation
Licence checks are cached with a 14-day grace period and never block a customer conversation. If our licence server has a bad day, your store doesn't.
No volume meter
Pro is a flat price per site, per year. Not per conversation, not per message, not per token. Your growth is not our upsell.
Deskhand Pro
£99 per site / year
Policy engine, write actions, audit trail, simulate mode — plus a year of updates and priority support.

Before you buy
What exactly happens if I don't renew?
The plugin keeps working on the free tier: widget, answers, verification, escalation, conversation log. Write actions and the policy engine pause, and you stop receiving updates. Nothing breaks, no data is lost, and renewing picks up where you left off.
Do I need a new API key or account for Pro?
No. Pro is a licence key on top of the same plugin, same settings, same model API key. Enter the key, and the locked features unlock in place.
Can I try the write actions before customers can use them?
Yes — that's what simulate mode is for. Run real messages through the agent as a dry run and watch what it would do, including the policy decision, before you enable anything on the storefront.
Is one licence enough for staging and production?
A licence covers one production site; staging and development copies of that site don't count against it.
I run an agency — should I buy Pro per client?
You can, but the Agency tier is usually the better deal: one licence across your client book, white-labelling, and central policy deployment. Book a call and we'll do the arithmetic with you.
